Bio:

Ashlyn is a Haslam Scholar at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, designing an interdisciplinary major titled Food Security and Public Health Nutrition with minors in Spanish and International Agriculture. As a food justice advocate, her passion for anti-hunger work manifests on the local and international level. In 2019 she was selected as a Milam Scholar to Guatemala where she facilitated community health discussions and constructed a school garden. Ashlyn is the President of the Student Basic Needs Coalition, a student liaison for the End Hunger FEED Change Coalition, and conducts qualitative research on college student food insecurity at her university.
