Bio:

Shruti is an inter-disciplinary urban designer, urban planning researcher and architect. Her strong principle of resiliency seeks research collaborations for multidisciplinary responses of physical and socio-cultural urban environments. Her main interest is on mitigating food deserts which are a global problem of inadequate food supply in quantity and quality in underserved neighborhoods. She has published Building-Integrated Food-Energy-Water Model (Bi-FEW): Building-Integrated Wetland Agriculture (BIWA) as her thesis project which creates a responsive and resilient food network in urban neighborhoods to overcome local food insecurities and FRUIT (Food Resilience Urban Infrastructural Tools) in collaboration with her University of Miami professors.
