Bio:

Xiaoxu Jia is a professor at the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He received his Ph.D. degree in 2014 from Northwest A&F University. He is currently Associate Editor for Journal of Hydrology, Managing Guest Editor for Agriculture, Ecosystems and Environment. He is the director of Sub-Center for Water of Chinese Ecosystem Research Network (CERN) and the deputy director of Key Laboratory of Ecosystem Network Observation and Modeling, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research areas include:

(1) soil hydro-physical characterization at various temporal and spatial scales;
(2) soil hydrological processes and the ecological effects;
(3) plant-soil-water interactions;
(4) modelling of ecohydrological processes in water limited ecosystems.

He has received 3 projects from National Natural Science Foundation of China, 2 projects from the National Key Research and Development Program of China. He has contributed to over 90 peer-reviewed papers in international journals, including Water Resources Research, Science Bulletin, Agricultural and Forest Meteorology, Journal of Hydrology, Surveys in Geophysics, Soil Science Society of America Journal, etc. In 2020 he was elected as deputy director of Soil Physics Committee of Soil Science Society of China for his contributions to the field of soil hydrology.
